What is Chinese Baijiu

Chinese Baijiu is a kind of hard liquor brewed through fermenting, distilling, storing and aging with grains as the raw materials. Due to its strong and bright taste as well as rich and varied aromas, it has been ranked first in the world’s top six distilled liquors. Luzhou City in Sichuan Province, which is called “The City of Baijiu”, has been recognized by the experts of UNESCO as “the best region for brewing high-quality distilled spirits at the north latitude 28°of the earth”. Honored as the origin of Strong Aroma Baijiu, Luzhou Laojiao is the most brilliant diamond among the thousands of years of Baijiu making history in Luzhou.

3 steps to taste Luzhou Laojiao: Color, Smell, Palate

Normally Baijiu is water-white and colorless. Yellowish appearance is allowed in Strong Aroma Baijiu like Luzhou Laojiao

Take a sniff and move the glass away from the nose in case any harm to the nose should be caused by smelling high alcoholic percentage baijiu for too long. For meticulous smelling, take a few drop of baijiu on your palm and rub your hands. Baijiu will be volatilized by body temperature and release more aromas.

Finally we can determine the taste and style of the baijiu by its sweetness, sourness, richness, balance, smoothness, pureness and finish.
